Soul Asylum & Sweetwater rock out for Cobain

Soul Asylum and Sweet Water performed at the annual Lounge Acts concert in Aberdeen Saturday. The show, which also featured Aberdeen group Angie and the Car Wrecks, is a yearly fundraiser for the Kurt Cobain Memorial Committee. The group is a non-profit organization attempting to raise money for projects that will honor Cobain in his hometown. Goals include building a community youth center in Cobain’s name, a Cobain memorial park and creating public signage in the town recognizing Cobain’s and Nirvana’s contributions to popular music.

As per tradition at Lounge Acts concerts, each band performed a Nirvana cover. Soul Asylum performed “All Apologies,” Sweet Water did “About A Girl” and Angie and the Car Wrecks covered “Sliver.”
