Sasquatch! snags Wilco, Modest Mouse, Death Cab, Flaming Lips & more

The folks at 107.7 The End broke the news of the lineup for the 2011 Sasquatch! Music Festival a few minutes ago and here are the details:

I will admit I’m a little disappointed. It’s definitely an impressive grouping of bands, but I was hoping for a few more big names in the headlining department. But overall I say it’s looking like another solid outing for Sasquatch! and I smell another sell out.

Now that the lineup is here, what are your thoughts? Will you be making the trip to the Gorge this year, or will you be staying home Memorial Day weekend?

  1. Line up this year is interesting alot of young acts that are in the up and coming. Love it. Only question i got is anyone surprised Arcade Fire isn’t on the bill? I know Sasquatch already has a huge canadian following, you think if they would’ve gotten AF it would’ve set them over the top… eh?

  2. Honestly, the headliners are completely underwhelming and sigh, I had my hopes up for arcade fire. I thought it was a shoe in and perhaps the pixies would also land up on that poster. Great set of bands it’s just that most of those I’ve seen before and I was anticipating something completely surprising and unexpected.
I have to say that I love all the other bands ie beach house, deerhunter, wolf parade, yeasayer, best coast etc. I just feel like there is a void in the lineup. Overall I have to say it seems like a collection of past bands from sasquatch or a “best of….” for their 10th anniversary, but it’s really missing the big headliners.. But perhaps Adam Zacks can pull off a Prince Coachella move circa 2008 and give us something really good later in the game….

  3. I really love the choices for headliners and subs I think it will be one of the best so far. The special Lips set will set it apart from any festival!

  4. Where is my arcade fire? Where is my fleet foxes? I keep reading through this list hoping that I’ve skimmed over my favorite bands by accident. It looks pretty lame and I am thoroughly disappointed in this lineup.

  5. I was only hoping for the rumour/guess to come true that Echo and The Bunnymen would be making a stop—tho it wouldn’t have been the venue I would have wanted to see them at anyway. Not so interested now…Foos and Lips would be great, but I’ll check them out elsewhere….

  6. Let’s see….Foo Fighters, The Decemberists, Cold War Kids and Dan Mangan are the reasons I would go to Sasquatch this year, but I won’t. Last year the fest was phenomenal and had well over 12 bands I was dying to see. 4 bands does not equal a trip south this year. (although I’d love to see DC4C and Against Me! again, they are incredible live)

    Sad to me.

After seeing this line up I will wait to see what the Osheaga Fest line up looks like and maybe go there this year instead.
