What we know about the 2011 Sasquatch! lineup

The much anticipated lineup for the the 2011 Sasquatch! Music Festival will be announced later tonight.

Currently little is known about this year’s version of the festival, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary, aside from the Foo Fighters headlining its first night. And while throwing out wild guesses about the lineup is fun and all (I made my it’s-never-gonna-happen guess last month), I figure it would be good to take a look at who is more or less confirmed to be at Sasquatch!

In years past I was able to deduce the lineup by asking record label friends, examining holes in tour itineraries and by hitting up publicists. Nowadays the record label folks and publicists are sworn to secrecy so most of this information is from the excellent Consequence of Sound, a website I recommend you check out daily because they cover a great deal of ground when it comes to pop music.

Ten acts expected to appear at Sasquatch!:

  • Fitz and the Tantrums
  • MSTRKRFT
  • Wolf Parade
  • Das Racist
  • Bright Eyes
  • Matt and Kim
  • Cold War Kids
  • Iron & Wine
  • Sleigh Bells
  • Wavves

Since Sasquatch! is always heavy on the Northwest talent it’s safe to assume there will be at least 20 local bands, or bands with Northwest ties, on the bill too. Here is some speculation about five locals who will likely be at the Gorge come Memorial Day weekend:

  • Macklemore
  • Blue Scholars
  • Mad Rad
  • Moondoggies
  • The Head and the Heart

As previously mentioned, the Sasquatch! lineup will be revealed later tonight and you can expect to read all about it here on Guerrilla Candy when it is made public. So you can either keep your browser on this site and continually keep clicking refresh to see who will and won’t be at Sasquatch!, or come back later tonight or tomorrow morning for the details.
