Weezer records State Farm jingle (for reals)

I typically don’t go posting all of the odd/cool/interesting/crazy things I find on the Internet (if I did this would be a completely different type of website) but this video clip just screamed “post me” when I saw it a few minutes ago.

Apparently Weezer recorded a State Farm jingle and made a video of themselves in the studio for all to see. I’m guessing it was as part of some sort of promotional tie-in with State Farm but I’m really in too much of a state of shock to do much research on the matter.

Strangely, it’s a surprisingly decent song as far as Weezer output in the post-Pinkerton era is concerned but I’m not quite sure how I feel about Rivers Cuomo and the rest of Weezer writing a jingle for an insurance company. I’m guessing most other Weezer fans, or those who are still clutching onto their memories of the Weezer era between 1992 and 1996, are having the same sort of reaction.
