Macklemore & Ryan Lewis show their city’s filthy

Readers outside of Seattle take note:

In case you didn’t already know, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are blowing up.

They’re embarking on a national tour, which includes three sold-out shows at the Showbox, have landed on the cover of the Seattle Times and  are more or less paving their own path to success outside of Seattle.

To put it more simply in Seattle terms, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are filthy.

What exactly is filthy, you ask. Filthy is the most recent development in Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ takeover of Seattle/the world. Check out the video above which explains the duo’s new t-shirt that borrows a line from Macklemore’s ode to Seattle “The Town.”

The line is “My city’s filthy” and, well, if you live in Seattle you know exactly what that means. If you don’t live in Seattle then pay attention and learn some of the local slang up here in the 206.

The video features some of The Town’s more prominent local hip-hop figures explaining what exactly filthy means and introduces the duo’s new shirt. Never has a video launching a piece of clothing been so cool.
