New Eddie Vedder record, concert film & U.S. tour?

This just in from the unsubstantiated rumors department:

The Pearl Jam corners of the Internet are abuzz with speculation regarding a possible Eddie Vedder solo album, live DVD and U.S. tour.

The report of the solo album came in the form of a tweet by Toronto radio DJ named “Bookie” who tweeted the following:

“New Eddie Vedder solo LP in May..more deets to come coming soon”

Take this Canadian intel for what it’s worth because there’s no actual proof of a Vedder solo record outside of that tweet. However, it makes sense that Eddie would release a new album since he is touring Australia this month sans Pearl Jam.

As for the concert film, that bit of info comes from the Pearl Jam message boards where a link was posted to the website for the film production company Trixie. The website says the company is working on an Eddie Vedder acoustic concert film to be released in May.

The last bit of today’s trifecta of speculation also comes from the band’s message boards where one poster mentions that Philadelphia 76ers announcer Matt Cord said Eddie would be playing in Philly in June at Pennsylvania’s Tower Theater. If this is true it’s safe to assume the show would be part of a U.S. tour since Vedder is touring Australia, and hopefully that tour will include a gig in Seattle so Eddie can finally play his first official solo show in the city where he lives.

  1. Eddie ~ Please come back to NJ. I’m so disappointed I missed PJ last year at the Prudential Center. How ’bout a smaller venue, like The Stanhope House or the Mayo Arts Center ~ we’re the nicer part of Jersey 🙂 We adore Pearl Jam here and would absolutely love to see your solo show! Please help me fulfill my bucket list! I will die a happy woman, for sure!

  2. Best news to lift my recession blues. Saw 4 of the solo shows in 2007. Literally some of the best times of my life. Way to go Eddie!
