Sasquatch! adds Biffy Clyro, Wavves, Mould, Mascis, & more

Sure Sasquatch! 2011 sold out weeks ago and isn’t happening for another two months but that doesn’t mean there isn’t news on  the Sasquatch! front.

Festival organizers recently announced a few new additions to the Sasquatch! lineup and they include U.K. rock sensations Biffy Clyro, indie favorites Wavves, former Husker Du and Sugar frontman Bob Mould, Dinosaur Jr. frontman J Mascis and comedians Scott Aukerman and Paul F. Tomkins.

Biffy Clyro was recently voted best live act by the U.K. rock rag the NME beating out Arcade Fire, Muse, Foals and Kasabian for the honor. They performed at the Crocodile a few weeks back and Guerrilla Candy’s Heather Brammer wasn’t quite as impressed as the sometimes sensationalist NME. Wavves is on tour with Sasquatch! performers Beach House Best Coast and it seemed odd that they weren’t included in the original lineup announcement considering they fit the festival’s mold of indie-friendly rock.

Mould contributed to the upcoming record by Sasquatch! headliners Foo Fighters and has played a few club dates with the band. His appearance at Sasquatch! could be a sign that he will be accompanying the Foo Fighters on their upcoming tour. Mascis is touring behind a solo record that is mostly an acoustic effort with very little percussion and amplification of instruments.

According to the Sasquatch! website, Tomkins, possibly best known for his Best Week Ever hosting duties on VH1, and Aukerman will be performing “a variety show of interviews, standup, sketches, and music featuring Scott Aukerman (Comedy Death Ray), Paul F. Tompkins (The Pod F. Tompkast), Tig Notaro, Reggie Watts, and more.”

Although you can’t get tickets to this year’s Sasquatch! you can always try to get tickets to these shows and see several Sasquatch! artists before Memorial Day weekend.
