Top 5 songs for your St. Patrick’s Day

It’s St Patrick’s Day and in case you haven’t noticed we here at Guerrilla Candy decided to go green to mark the occasion.

Of course there are plenty of other ways to celebrate today that don’t involve changing the color of your blog’s theme. If you’re like most Americans celebrating St Patrick’s Day you might be eating a meal that includes some soda bread, potatoes and corned beef, or perhaps you’re drinking some green beer or a Guinness.

In case you are having yourself a liquid celebration and happen to find your way into a karaoke bar tonight here are Guerrilla Candy’s top five perfectly Irish songs you should consider singing along to before making the cliched decision to go with “Danny Boy.”

5. “Kiss Me I’m Shitfaced” – Dropkick Murphys
Have you heard of the saying “Kiss me I’m Irish? Well, this song is sort of like that but not really.

4. “Sunday Bloody Sunday” – U2
St. Patrick’s Day is the one day of the year when you can get away with singing along to U2 at the top of your lungs so take advantage of it.

3. “Shamrocks & Shenanigans” (Butch Vig remix) – House of Pain
Yes you could go with the original version but the Butch Vig treatment of this track rocks too hard to not be karaoke material.

2. “Drunken Lullabies” – Flogging Molly
A riotously fun drinking song makes for a riotously fun karaoke song.

1. “Irish Celebration” – Macklemore”
The best song to raise your glasses to in Seattle on St. Patrick’s Day
