Death Cab to make music video history

Death Cab For Cutie will debut the first video from its upcoming Codes and Keys record on April 5 and by doing so it will make music video history, according to the band’s record label.

The video for “You Are A Tourist” will be the first unscripted, live one-take music video and will be aired as it is filmed. The clip will air April 5 at 4 p.m. PST over on this website. That same day behind-the-scenes images from the video shoot will be aired over at Bing’s Facebook page.

Atlantic Records is billing the event as “music video history” because no other band has recorded a one-take, scripted video and broadcast the video live while it is filming.

Death Cab’s latest album, Codes and Keys, is due out May 31 and the band’s next local concert will be a headlining set at the Sasquatch! Music Festival this Memorial Day weekend.
