Krist Novoselic to appear with Foos at Sasquatch?

A posting on the Sasquatch! Facebook page strongly hinted at former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic joining his former Nirvana bandmate Dave Grohol on stage during the Foo Fighters’ headlining set Friday night. Or at least it could be interpreted as a strong hint.

Of course if this was sole instance of a hint at a possible Novoselic appearance it could just be written off as the Sasquatch! social media peeps teasing festivalgoers, but it isn’t the only suggestion of a mini-Nirvana reunion. There is also a blog post on Sasquatch!’s website about EMP’s Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses exhibit with a video clip of Novoselic. But if you look closely on the website you’ll notice an EMP ad for the exhibit so that possible hint could be written off as Sasquatch! wanting to give its advertisers some love.

Okay, so those are two possible clues that a Grohl-Novoselic reunion will happen at Sasquatch! and both make it seem likely while also not-so-likely at the same time. How about a third clue?

This one comes from the folks over at Spin magazine. On Spin’s website there is a 20 Must-hear Bands at Sasquatch! feature and band number 12 on that list is the Foo Fighters. Here’s what Spin has to say about the Foo’s set:

Could Sasquatch provide a Nirvana-esque reunion? In December, at a “secret” Foo Fighters gig in California, Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic joined Grohl and Nirvana touring guitarist (and now Foo Fighter, for the second go-around) Pat Smear for a cover of “Marigold,” the lone Grohl-penned Nirvana track. Novoselic still lives in Washington State — stranger things have happened.

Stranger things have happened indeed. But right now it is looking like all signs are pointing to a Grohl-Novoselic reunion.

So, will it happen? Won’t it happen? We’ll have to wait until May 27 to find out.
