Sneak preview: The Physics ‘Love is a Business’

The Physics have been one of the more interesting figures in the local hip-hop scene over the past few years. The trio of Thig Natural, Just “Justo” D’Amato, and Monk Wordsmith, has made itself one of the many shining jewels of the local hip-hop scene for the past few years with a few quality EPs and one classic full-length record.

Friday the group will celebrate the release of their latest full-length album, Love is a Business, with two shows at the Crocodile. The first show is an all-ages affair at 6 p.m. with Grynch, Dyno Jamz and Brothers From Another. The second show is at 10 p.m. for those 21+ and it features Hi-Life Soundsystem, Fly Moon Royalty and Malice & Mario Sweet. Both shows cost $10.

Love is a Business doesn’t get released until Friday but you can listen to the first five tracks from the album over at the group’s Bandcamp page. It’s a solid sampling of one of the best local hip-hop records of the year. So give the songs a listen and head over to the Crocodile Friday to help the Physics celebrate the record’s release.
