Help Brent Amaker & The Rodeo conquer Europe

Help Brent Amaker and the Rodeo make it to Europe from Guerrilla Candy on Vimeo.

Brent Amaker and the Rodeo needs your help.

The good ol’ boys in BAR have been asked to play Berlin Music Week in September and the group has booked a Europen tour so they can show those sissy new age cowboys over in Europe how to properly throw down Rodeo style. There’s only one thing holding them back, like most local bands BAR doesn’t quite have the full financial means to make it overseas, which is where you come into play.

Brent Amaker and the Rodeo have set up a Kickstarter campaign to fund their European adventure. This means you can help send a bit of the good ol’ U S of A to Germany in the form of Seattle’s the nation’s finest group of whiskey swiggin’, Johnny Cash lovin’, cowboy boot wearin’,  shit kickin’, men in black.

There’s only 16 days left in BAR’s Kickstarter so head over here and look at all the goodies you can get for donating to the Rodeo’s cause. What sort of goodies? Well, you can get limited-edition vinyl, a personalized video greeting from the band shot while in Europe, signed tour posters, nifty European souvenirs in the form of ashtrays, towels and whatever the Rodeo can manage to steal from hotels and more. You read that right, stolen goods from European hotels.

Here’s some words about the campaign from Mr. Amaker himself (aka the Mayor of West Seattle) and just for fun I dropped in the group’s latest video for “Man in Charge.”

Being a cowboy in Seattle isn’t always easy.  The only place it ever makes sense is on the road.  Brent Amaker and the Rodeo have blazed across North America and Europe documenting whiskey baptisms in dive bars, Zombie hoedowns in Sioux Falls, haunted hotels in Flagstaff, and even prisons in Antwerp all the while inducting faithful Rodeo fans into the Church of the Rodeo.

This last year the Rodeo have caught the attention from Rolling Stone, My Old Kentucky Blog, Magnet Magazine, and have appeared at SXSW and Bumbershoot Music Festivals.  Now they’ve been asked to play Berlin Music Week this September and have booked a 12 day tour across Germany and Denmark before heading to the studio later this fall.   They need help raising funds for airfare and equipment rentals.

We’re calling on our loyal fans and folks hoping to check us out.  Bring the Rodeo to Berlin.  We’ll bring the whiskey.

Thank you,

Brent Amaker and the Rodeo
