Tonight: Drink beer & raise Hell with Hell’s Belles

The fearsome fivesome who make up Hell’s Belles (Mandy Reed, Adrian Conner, Lisa Brisbois, Laura D and newcomer Amber Saxon, an Australian export who plays the vital role of Bon Scott/Brian Johnson) aren’t just the best AC/DC tribute band you’ll ever see, they are perhaps the best tribute band you will ever see, period.

And you’ll want to think twice before writing off the Belles as a novelty act just because they’re women playing high-powered, testosterone-fueled jams popularized by one of the most iconic bands in rock history because these ladies are some of the most talented and technically skilled rock musicians gigging in clubs around the country.

But don’t just take my word for how amazingly authentic and flat-out face-melting the women of Hell’s Belles can be. Here’s what Angus Young had to say when he was asked about AC/DC tribute acts:

“The best AC/DC cover band I’ve heard? There’s this all-girl cover band in America, The Hell’s Belles.”

So get to Neumos tonight and have a raucous time rocking out with Hell’s Bells.

Hell’s Belles perform at Neumos tonight with Stone Axe and Palooka (8 p.m., $13)
