Sasquatch! to feature Lana Del Rey, Girl Talk & The Shins?

As mentioned earlier today, leaks for this year’s Sasquatch! lineup are practically nonexistent. This has left Sasquatch! fans with only wild speculation about who will be performing at Sasquatch! 2012 and the latest, and possibly most legitimate, bit of speculation came on Saturday.

Apparently someone was poking around the Sasquatch! website and managed to grab a few names of performers that weren’t supposed to be posted yet. Of course the link given to where this information was taken from has been since shut down, so take all of this with a grain of salt since nothing has been confirmed.

The big names listed in this supposed leak are The Shins, Girl Talk, Lana Del Rey and Beirut (the full list is below). All of those names are feasible for Sasquatch! acts but the inclusion of Lana Del Rey seems a bit fishy considering the reports that she won’t be touring until later this year. However, Adam Zacks has been known to include acts that could be considered outside of the box for Sasquatch! in the past (Kanye West in 2005, Santigold in 2009, Robyn last year) so Lana Del Rey could still conceivably be a Sasquatch! artist. Her appearance would be a coup for the festival since Sasquatch! would be one of her first US dates this year if the reports of a late 2012 tour for Del Rey are true. The other detail that makes this “leak” believable is the inclusion of locals like SPAC3MAN, Grynch, Sol, Dyme Def and other Northwest hip-hop acts on the Maine stage.

The only other somewhat solid confirmation of Sasquatch! performers came from Marco Collins way back on Jan. 17 when he tweeted that Allen Stone will be performing prior to The Roots at Sasquatch! Collins’ tweet won’t be confirmed until the lineup is announced Thursday, but his tweet can be seen as more legit than someone who says they hacked into the Sasquatch! website considering he broke the news of the Capitol Hill Block Party headliners a few years ago and has broke other big local music news on Twitter in the past.

    1. She sure is. That’s why I was careful to qualify it as “one of her first” US appearances 🙂

      1. Whoops, I apologize! I read it to fast!! It should be interesting where she lands on the lineup (that is if this is true, which I think it is)

  1. Hey Travis, any suggestions for the best way to see (and or hear) the lineup announcement tonight? (For someone not in Seattle-haha). Will you be live-tweeting, for example?

    1. You can keep your browser peeled here later tonight for the lineup, or try the Sasquatch message boards. The message boards are unofficial, but they’re serious about their Sasquatch and you should be able to find them with a quick Google search. No live-tweeting by me tonight because the lineup will likely be flashed on a screen and not fully “announced” so it makes it tough to deliver the full lineup via Twitter. Hope that info helps.

  2. Thanks so much, very helpful! I will probably have this page, the blogspot page and the blue board up all at the same time 🙂
