The partial lineup for the 2012 Capitol Hill Block Party was announced this morning and it’s quite an impressive bill. Neko Case, Fitz and the Tantrums, Major Lazer, Grimes, Diplo and Phantogram are some of the more established acts on the bill. On the indie cred side of things there’s Cloud Nothings, Thee Oh Sees, Doomtree, The Lumineers, Jaill and many other acts worth getting excited about. And of course Capitol Hill Block Party will host an impressive amount of local bands including Father John Misty, Absolute Monarchs, Sandrider, Eighteen Individual Eyes, Blue Sky, Black Death, Nacho Picasso, Kris Orlowski, Lemolo, Kithkin, Hot Bodies In Motion and Kung Foo Grip among others.
The festival will feature six stages (including the new Barboza and Havanh stages) and tickets currently cost $75 for a three-day pass (they’ll increase to $85 soon) and can be purchased here. The festival will be happening July 20-22 and the partial lineup is below. The festival is advertising 100 bands and there are only 65ish that have been announced so expect to get more CHBP news as it gets closer to festival time.
