Report: Mike McCready working on a solo record

File this one under unsubstantiated rumor. A blog post from the fine folks over at KEXP reports that Mike McCready may be working on a solo record. It’s somewhat surprising news but not really all too shocking considering Mike’s been a pretty busy guy as of late, just like the rest of his bandmates in Pearl Jam.

He recently released a split 7″ with Star Anna on Record Store Day for his song “Keep On” (which he wrote and Star Anna contributed vocals), he’s talking about making another Mad Season album, going to tour with his UFO tribute band Flight to Mars and he has been popping up at local performances by Star Anna and Dierks Bentley, so McCready working on a solo album doesn’t seem like much of a stretch of the imagination. McCready also has scored television shows which makes the transition to a solo record seem nearly inevitable.

More details of a potential Mike McCready solo album will be reported here when more information is available.
