Song premiere: Ticktockman ‘White Nights’

White Nights by Ticktockman

Things seem to be moving pretty quickly in the Ticktockman camp and that’s a very good thing. The band released its debut full-length record earlier this year (which is one of Guerrilla Candy’s must-own local albums of 2012) and now they have more music to share with the masses.

The group, which consists of Van Wieringen from Gatsbys American Dream and Wild Orchid Children and Andy Lum of Wild Orchid Children along with Morgan Bruner, Brock Lowry and Phil Sells, play the sort of rock that’s like a beautifully controlled chaos for your ears. It’s music tends to provide an experiential listen that bends the rules of convention instead of sticking to the script of what traditionally makes a good rock song. Anyone who is a fan of At The Drive-In, Mars Volta or Portugal. The Man will find themselves right at home listening to a Ticktockman record.

Ticktockman is unlike a lot of what’s happening in Seattle’s rock scene at the moment which is why I am thrilled to premiere the song “White Nights” from the band’s upcoming Calling Out The Hounds EP. The EP is scheduled for release later this summer so you’ll have to wait a little while to hear the rest of Calling Out The Hounds. Between now and the EP’s release date you can get your Ticktockman fix by catching the band live during one of the dates below.

May 24th Chop Suey with The Skins
May 30th Shakedown (Bellingham) with Joe Sneva and the Neon Sharks
June 13th The Sunset with Yards
July 19th The Tractor with Panama Gold and Mothership
