Listen: New music from Sol ‘Be Good Or Be Careful’

Be Good Or Be Careful (Prod. Nima Skeemz) by Solzilla

Sol’s Yours Truly album from earlier this year is one of the best local records of 2012 so far and his excellence continues with “Be Good Or Be Careful.”

The track is a part of the P.S. EP which was produced by The Zillas, a production team consisting of his band members Elan Wright (“Ugly Love”) and Nima Skeemz (“2020” & “Stage Dive”) who both did work on Yours Truly. There’s no word on a release date for the EP yet but you can expect to hear some new cuts during Sol’s farewell show at the Showbox June 16. And yes, you read that right, Sol is saying farewell.

Later this month Sol will embark on a nine-month journey around the world as part of a fellowship he earned while attending the University of Washington. As a Bonderman Travel Fellowship recipient Sol will travel to more than a dozen countries and experience their cultures and customs independently, outside of an academic setting. It’s sort of a form of immersion education administered by the student.

Hear all about Sol’s journey from the man himself by watching his farewell show announcement video. Tickets for his farewell show, which will also feature sets by The Physics and XV, cost $15 and can be purchased here.
