Bumbershoot adds the writers of Futurama, John Waters & more

Bumbershoot’s performing arts and words & ideas lineup was revealed this morning and it includes a listing of names and events that span the pop culture spectrum.

Some of the words & ideas offerings include Trivia Night with local Jeopardy! champ Ken Jennings, The Joy of Censorship with MAD Magazine senior editor Joe Raiola, Letters to Kurt with former Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson and Writers of Futurama which will feature David X Cohen, Eric Horsted, Ken Keeler, Dan Vebber, Josh Weinstein and Mike Rowe. On the performing arts side pop culture icon John Waters will be at the festival with This Filthy Worlds: Filthier and Dirtier. According to Bumbershoot’s website his performance will focus on “his early negative artistic influences and his fascination with true crime, exploitation films, fashion lunacy, the extremes of the art world, Catholicism, sexual deviancy and a love of reading.” The full listing of performing arts offerings is here.
