Tune in to a discussion of Pearl Jam’s Ten w/me & Marco Collins

The folks at Jet City Stream started a new weekly feature last week called Seattle Classics. During the weekly spot DJ Marco Collins spins a classic Seattle record and brings in a notable guest to help co-host and curate the spinning of the album. Last week, for the premiere edition, author Charles R. Cross curated Jimi Hendrix’s Are You Experienced? You can listen to the entire conversation about the record, and the record itself, over here.

For this week’s edition, which airs today at 3:30 p.m. over here, Marco asked me to curate a playthrough of Pearl Jam’s debut record Ten. Of course I immediately agreed but I threw in the small stipulation that I would be able to play a few very important b-side from the Ten era.

I am currently quite giddy about the broadcast and I’m not quite sure how it will go. I don’t consider myself to be a real Pearl Jam expert, so I plan on approaching the record from the perspective of a very passionate fan.  I don’t know if I will geek out and go all fanboy on Marco or if I’ll act professional and play the stoic rock critic card. Or hey, maybe I’ll do both.

I am honored to be asked and it’s quite a thrill to get to talk about my favorite record of all time with Marco, who himself is quite an iconic figure in local music. So be sure to tune in to the broadcast at 3:30 and listen to me and Marco blab about Pearl Jam.
