Pearl Jam is gearing up for a tour

It looks like the dry spell of Pearl Jam‘s full-scale tours might soon be coming to an end. That’s right, no more of those small-scale European, Canadian or South American tours the group has taken fondly to the past few years. The boys of Pearl Jam are returning to their road warrior roots. But don’t get too excited fellow Ten Clubbers, because no official announcement has been made regarding a 2013 tour, but it sure does look like the band will be hitting the road soon.

Here’s what’s leading to the strong speculation of a pending tour announcement.

For those unfamiliar, Pearl Jam does its own ticketing for members of Ten Club, which is the band’s fanclub. Last year the band had a major problem with its ticketing system for the European tour, which made a lot of fans pretty upset. When I interviewed Tim Bierman, manager of Ten Club, he briefly mentioned the ticketing SNAFU and said there were plans to try to make it up to the fans. Yesterday, those plans were revealed.

Ten Club members got an email asking them to test out the band’s new ticketing system. The trial run of the system included two fake tours and eight fake tour dates. Ten Clubbers who participated were all entered to win some rare Pearl Jam merch, including the highly coveted Benaroya Hall vinyl box set.

Of course, as mentioned previously there has been no announcement regarding a tour, so don’t get excited. However, this trial system sure does make it sound like something is in the works, so forget what I just said and get excited!
