Congratulations to frequent Guerrilla Candy contributor Jason Tang who won a second place trophy in the inaugural Rocktographer Awards at the Triple Door.

The Rocktographers Awards were put together by local shooter Matt Hayward and it included prints of images from 20 local rock photographers, many of whom I’ve been lucky to work with over the past several years. The 20 entries, which you can find here, were judged by Triple Door patrons and the three entries with the most votes won trophies.

Jason won second place for the excellent Matt & Kim image shown above which was originally posted here on Guerrilla Candy back in November of 2012. The first place trophy was awarded to  Christopher Nelson, whose work has also been featured on Guerrilla Candy. Nelson won for this shot taken at the Paramount Theatre. The third place award went to Mocha Charlie for this shot of Brandon Boyd of Incubus at the Tacoma Dome. Other Guerrilla Candy contributors whose work was featured in the Rocktography exhibit include Graham Lee,  Alex Crick and Suzi Pratt.

Jason has become well-known for his distinctive photography style throughout the local music and photography communities. Aside from Guerrilla Candy, Jason’s work has also been seen at Seattle Music Insider, Inside Right Wrist, Seattle Living Room Shows and other organizations. His work has been featured on both Guerrilla Candy and Ear Candy since 2009. You can find more of Jason’s work on his website.
