Listen to Soundgarden’s Ben Shepherd’s solo debut

Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd will release his debut solo album, called In Deep Owl, on Aug. 27 under the name HBS. The HBS stands for his initials (he was born Hunter Benedict Shepherd). The record will feature Shepherd’s Soundgarden bandmate, drummer Matt Cameron, as well as the excellent session drummer and one-time Pearl Jam skinsman Matt Chamberlain. The first song off the record, “Baron Robber,” was debuted on Spin.com earlier today. Take a listen below.
