Seattle musicians love their local sports teams so it should be no surprise that several notable local musicians gathered at the Space Needle to raise the 12th man flag to support their home team prior to their NFC wildcard matchup against the Washington Redskins on Sunday. Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn declared today Blue Friday and the raising of the flag is the Space Needle’s way of marking the event.
Macklemore, Ben Gibbard, Sir Mix A Lot, Tendai Maraire (of Shabazz Palaces), Nick Harmer (of Death Cab for Cutie), Jason Finn (from the Presidents of the USA) and Candlebox drummer Scott Mercado were a part of the group of musicians that dropped by the Needle. See them all sporting their 12th Man jerseys above and check out pictures of Macklemore and Ben Gibbard raising the flag below.
