Seattle’s annual music and arts festival, aka Bumbershoot, is right around the corner and with it comes an excellent opportunity to see loads of local talent. While the festival has a great mix of notable headliners that are not local in Weezer, Janelle Monae, Aurora, Digable Planets and others, the lineup for the two-day, 50-act event is 46 percent local.
With all of that local goodness hanging around Seattle Center campus you’re bound to stumble into your new favorite local band. But in case you need some guidance, here are a few locals worth checking out for each day of the festival.
Day 1
Amelia Day & the Cloves
Beautiful voice and amazing talent out of Spokane. High on my don’t-miss list.
Coffin Break
The oldest local band on the bill and quite possibly the loudest.
Tezatalks
A fresh take on pop and hip-hop from the PNW.
Zookraught
Some loud, chaotic pop-rock that should make for a good time.
Day 2
Small Paul
This Moondoggies offshoot will be the final local band to grace a stage at Bumbershoot 2025.
Vika & the Violets
Another stunning voice from the Spokane Valley.
Megacat
Smokey BRights jazzy instrumental project should sound awfully cool in the air-conditioned Vera Project.
Weep Wave
This experimental pop-rock band is known for putting on memorable shows.
