Organizers for the Timber! Music Festival revealed the lineup for this year’s event and it features genres ranging from jazz to hip-hop to punk rock to Latin to soul music, making for one of the most diverse festivals of the year.
Topping the bill are world music group Reyna Tropical, R&B songstress Lady Wray, spaz rockers Frankie and the Witch Fingers, political punks Dead Pioneers and hometown jazz/hip-hop genius Kassa Overall. As with most festivals set in the greater Seattle area, there is a decent amount of local talent on the bill as well. Some of that talent includes: Packaging, Weep Wave, Lucha Luna and M.O.S.S. The Timber! Music Festival has always been one of the more unique festivals when it comes to its lineup, setting and what it offers outside of music. It’s a festival where both the music and the atmosphere contribute equally to the vibe. Set in Carnation along the Tolt River, the festival offers star gazing with astronomers, swimming in the Tolt River, guided hikes with naturalists, painting workshops and other activities.
“Timber!’s longevity comes from our commitment to programming experience over popularity.
The goal has never been to out-negotiate others or compete in a race to ‘go bigger,’ but to
continually seek out the most meaningful and memorable live performances we can present,” said KEXP DJ Kevin Sur, the festival’s founder, in a press release. “Off the stage, we work just as hard to make Timber! less a place to be seen and more a place to be present – where audiences can unplug, connect, and instinctively put their phones away.”
Tickets for Timber! are currently on sale and range in price from $69.68 to $186.93.
