… And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, aka the band you should almost always find at the front of the record bins if your record store clerk alphabetizes by putting punctuation first, will release its seventh studio album Tao of the Dead next year.
The record is set for release on Feb. 8, 2011 and the first single “Summer of All Dead Souls” will be released Nov. 29, 2010. Trail of Dead records are always ambitious and typically consist of some of the more challenging and enjoyable art rock being made today. For Tao of the Dead the band apparently turned to several classic rock influences and created a record that pays homage to Pink Floyd, Rush and Steppenwolf which should make it one of the more interesting entries into the Trail of Dead catalog.
