There is absolutely no denying that hip-hop is owning the local music scene right now.

Proof: Macklemore sold out two separate nights at the Showbox At The Market during presale; back in October Blue Scholars headlined the Paramount (the first local hip-hop act to headline the historic venue); and tonight there are two stellar local hip-hop lineups for fans to choose from. Will it be Jake One and Freeway at Neumos or Champagne Champagne at the High Dive? Tough choice.

Let’s consider Champagne Champagne. Featuring MCs Peal Dragon and Sir Thomas Gray with Mark Gadjadhar making the beats, Champagne Champagne has an irreverent delivery style, offhand lyrics and unexpected electro beats. Plus, they are kinda famous. Lynn Shelton featured the trio in her webseries for MTV, $5 Cover: Seattle. Expect a energy-packed show that you’ll be hard-pressed not to dance to.

Opening for Champagne Champagne are more local hip-hop acts – Onry Ozzborn, Helluvastate (Tay Sean of Helladope and Thaddeus of SOTA), Sapient, and Mr. Hill.
