Tonight: forgetters and Street Eaters

forgetters (fate. Blake Schwarzenbach) and Street Eaters // 7:30 p.m. // $11 // The Vera Project

Punk rockers enthusiasts rejoice: Blake Schwarzenbach and his latest project, forgetters, are playing at The Vera Project tonight. Schwarzenbach is a mega-celebrity in the punk scene (the punk scene has mega-celebrities, right?). His groundbreaking punk band, Jawbreaker, is credited as inspiring the millions of punk and emo bands that flooded the music charts during the late 90s and early aughts with personal and frustrated lyrics and raw sound.

Schwarzenbach’s post-Jawbreaker emo-ish indie project, Jets To Brazil, is credited with inspiring the millions of indie bands that have been flooding the music charts since the mid-aughts. Schwarzenbach’s latest project with former Against Me! drummer Kevin Mahon, forgetters, represents a return to his roots: straight up punk music.
