Foo Fighters to release covers record ‘Medium Rare’

Just when you thought the promotional blitz behind the upcoming Foo Fighters record was over the band throws out more Foo goodness for you to absorb.

The group will release a limited-edition vinyl covers record called Medium Rare on April 16 ,which is Record Store Day, and a white limo (from the “White Limo” video) will be dropping by record stores around the country playing the band’s new album Wasting Light before it is hits shelves April 12. A tracklist for the covers album has not been released.

From Record Store Day’s website:

Over the next month or so, you might see a big-ass white limo pull up outside your store. Of course you might HEAR the limo first because it will be blasting the new Foo Fighters’ record, WASTING LIGHT.  Dave Grohl and the boys are sending THE white limo from their instant classic “WHITE LIMO” video (featuring Lemmy) on a cross-country tour of record stores and other cultural influencers, to introduce the new record to their fans.

Will they be stopping by your store? You’ll find out 24 hours in advance, and you’ll work with the band to get the word out via Facebook, Twitter, email, texting and all that other social media stuff we know you do so well.

Doesn’t stop there, though: Foo Fighters’ new record WASTING LIGHT comes out the week of Record Store Day (4/12) and they are releasing a very special vinyl album of their favorite cover tunes, called MEDIUM RARE, EXCLUSIVELY for Record Store Day participating stores.
