Tacoma’s Hell’s Kitchen to close Saturday

Sad news out of the Tacoma music scene today. It’s being reported that Hell’s Kitchen, which is the destination in  the south end for loud and heavy music, will be shuttering its doors for good on Saturday.

A post on the venue’s Facebook page reads:

After 10 years of Rocking tacoma area Hell’s Kitchen will be closing its doors for good after this weekend. I’m really sorry to all the bands and fans that had shows coming up. Ill keep you posted on the larger shows. I hope to see you all this weekend!!

The club, which was founded in 2002, relocated from its original location in Tacoma a few years ago and in its new location it continued to attract an audience for those interested in all things metal, punk, hard rock and occasionally hip-hop. If you’ve never been to Hell’s Kitchen, imagine a hybrid between The Funhouse and El Corazon.

And speaking of The Funhouse, the lower Queen Anne spot located in the shadow of the Space Needle will be closing its doors at its current location on Oct. 31. The owners of the property where The Funhouse is located have sold their property, forcing the venue to relocate.

The last show at Hell’s Kitchen will feature The Hardcount, Psycho78, The Cottonwood Cut Ups and White Trash Whiplash (9:30, $5).
