Watch: The Grizzled Mighty’s Block Party set

If you read any of my coverage of last weekend’s Capitol Hill Block Party coverage you’ll know that I ended up “discovering” several great local bands. I put discovering is in quotes because most of my discoveries were bands that have been around for a little while that I either didn’t pay attention to (Feet) or had  no idea existed (Walking Papers).

The Grizzled Might fall into the former category as I had heard their name quite a bit over the past year or so but never had an opportunity to see them live and didn’t take it upon myself to seek out their music. The band wasn’t on the Block Party bill but the folks at Jet City Stream, who seem to know talent when they hear it, brought them along for an intimate session at Sole Repair during the festival’s opening day and they tore through about 30 minutes of pure power-garage rock. Watch the entire set and find out why they are one of my new favorite local bands.
