Get to Tacoma tonight for a great rock show

Jessica Dobson of Deep Sea Diver

There’s a new music and arts venue opening in Tacoma this weekend and to celebrate they are throwing a pretty killer party featuring some excellent local bands.

Guerrilla Candy favorites Deep Sea Diver are at the top of a triple bill with Smokey Brights (another GC fav) and Sisters at the brand new arts space Alma Mater.

In case you need convincing to make the short trip down I-5 to T-Town, Deep Sea Diver released one of the best local albums in recent memory with “Secrets.” And Smokey Brights consistently deliver excellent, soulful rock & roll parties. And be sure to arrive early for Sisters because they’re one of the many terrific local bands that have been making a whole lot of noise (in the best way possible) while I’ve been on my five-year blogging sabbatical.

Alma Mater is located at 1322 Fawcett Avenue in Tacoma. Tickets for tonight’s show cost $20 (get them here) and doors are at 7:00.

Here are some videos to entice you further. Now get out there and enjoy the show!
