Last week news of a 4-disc box set celebrating the career of Chris Cornell was announced. The set, titled “When Bad Does Good,” is scheduled for a Nov. 16 release and will feature  songs from nearly all of Cornell’s projects including material from Temple of the Dog, Audioslave, Soundgarden and his solo career.

The box set will include 11 previously unreleased songs, the highlight of which is the solo track “When Bad Does Good.” A lyric video for the song was released last night along with additional details of the box set. The song, which was  found in Cornell’s personal audio archive, was performed, recorded and mixed by Cornell. His vocals are accompanied by an organ, guitar and drums throughout the somber track. It is the first posthumous release from the late Seattle icon. Watch the lyric video below.

Cornell’s Temple of the Dog bandmate Jeff Ament did the art direction for the box set and he also contributed to the liner notes. Other liner notes contributors include Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, producer Brendan O’Brien and Cornell’s Soundgarden bandmates Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil.

The box set will be available in three versions: a 4-disc CD version, a 2LP version and a super deluxe edition. The super deluxe edition sells for $299 and includes 4 CDs, 7 LPs and 1 DVD along with a turntable slipmat, 36″x48″ poster of a Charles Peterson photo,  a 66-page hard cover photo, three 12”x12” photochromatic lithographs and other items. The photochromatic lithos have ink that is activated under sunlight to display an image.
