Bumbershoot announces $50 ticket deal

Bumbershoot organizers New Rising Sun, announced it will offer $50 single-day and $85 two-day passes to this year’s Bumbershoot for a limited time.

The $50 price point is an acknowledgment of the festival’s 50th anniversary as well as a response to complaints that admission costs inflated beyond affordable levels in recent years. The limited-time pricing, which is 50 percent lower than when the festival was last held in 2019, is part of a tiered pricing model that makes tickets more expensive the closer it gets to the festival dates.

After the early bird tickets are gone, prices will increase to a second tier of pricing with single-day tickets priced at $65 and $110 for a two-day pass. The third, and final, tier of pricing is $85 for single-day tickets and $130 for a two-day pass.

Bumbershoot is known for featuring an eclectic lineup of local, regional and national music acts and details of this year’s music lineup will be announced in the coming weeks. Some of the festival’s offerings this year that have been announced include, tarot readings, fashion shows, wrestling, pole dancing, augmented reality experiences and a cat circus.

Along with being the 50th anniversary of the festival, this year also marks the festival’s return after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic and having to find a new production company to manage the festival.

Bumbershoot 2023 takes place Sept. 2-3 at the Seattle Center. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 24 and can be purchased at Bumbershoot.com.
