What’s in the box? A look at Musicology Music Club’s first offering

Last month I announced the Musicology Music Club, the first (and only) vinyl subscription club to exclusively feature artists from the Pacific Northwest. It was met with overwhelmingly positive reactions.

The club just released its first box of vinyl goodies featuring Sub Pop’s reissue of The Gits’ “Frenching The Bully.” In an act of shameless self-promotion, I thought I would share what subscribers to the club received from the club’s first box. (Disclosure: Guerrilla Candy co-curates the club’s monthly offerings)

  • The Gits “Frenching The Bully” Loser Edition vinyl
  • Sticker pack containing stickers from The Gits, Hammerbox, Musicology Co, Latent Print Records and Guerrilla Candy
  • Hammerbox 7″ of unreleased b-sides “Tragic Static” and “Down in the Hammerbox”
  • Listening Notes ‘zine featuring a conversation about The Gits between Guerrilla Candy founder Travis Hay and Latent Print Records founder Pete Greenberg
  • The Gits show flier reproduction

You can take a look at all the goodness of the first box in this boxing video (no, that’s not a typo) and if you like what you see, there’s still time to sign up for the subscription, or you can outright buy a box for $30. Memberships can be purchased in one-month ($30), three-month ($85), six-month ($170), and 12-month ($340) increments. The March 2025 box will feature Portland up-and-comers, and Guerrilla Candy favs, Glitterfox.
