Living Colour, King Youngblood top Black & Loud Fest lineup

Just because it’s almost autumn doesn’t mean festival season in Seattle is finished.

The annual Black & Loud Festival, which celebrates black artists and their contribution to American music and culture, is set to take place Sept. 13 at the Crocodile. The lineup, which features headliner Living Colour, features 24 black musicians and visual artists. It is also loaded with local talent. Some of the locals include rising rockers King Youngblood, one of the most exciting rock bands in Seattle, critically acclaimed Black Ends, songstress Parisalexa and Black & Loud Festival mainstays Down North.

The Black & Loud Festival was crated by King Youngblood’s frontman Cameron Lavi-Jones after his band played a music festival and noticed they were the only black artists on the bill. The festival is in its fourth year and past lineups have featured local talent including Beverly Crusher, Ayron Jones, Breaks and Swells and other regional bands featuring black musicians.

Tickets for Black & Loud Festival are $71.68 for standard tickets and $143.78 for VIP tickets including fees. The can be purchased on the festival’s website.
