Watch: Pearl Jam’s live debut of ‘Can’t Deny Me’

Pearl Jam kicked off its South American tour yesterday with a career-spanning 30-song set which included the live debut of their new protest track “Can’t Deny Me.”

The track was surprise released as an exclusive to members of Ten Club, the group’s fan club, on March 10. It is the first single off an upcoming album, which will be the group’s 11th studio record.

Prior to the song Eddie Vedder spoke to the crowd in Spanish and dedicated it to the students in Parkland, Florida and mentioned Emma Gonzalez.

The Parkland dedication wasn’t the only dedication of the set. Vedder later dedicated “Carry On” to the late Chris Cornell.

Pearl Jam continues their South American tour this weekend with sets at Lollapalooza Chile and Lollapalooza Argentina and later this summer the band will embark on a European tour. The group returns to Seattle in August to perform two sold-out concerts at Safeco Field.
