Mark Lanegan is releasing a memoir

Mark Lanegan, former frontman for Screaming Trees and former member of Queens of the Stone Age, has written a memoir and it will be released in spring of 2020.

The book, titled “Sing Backwards and Weep,” will cover the years e spent living in Seattle from the late 80s to the late 90s. According to Publishers Weekly, he will cover his time as “a low-level crack dealer and a homeless heroin addict, during the music phenomenon that rocketed out of the Northwest and brought the bands of some of his closest friends to the forefront of popular music worldwide.”

The memoir will be Lanegan’s second book release. In 2017 he released “I Am The Wolf Lyrics and Writings,” which is a collection of his lyrics and autobiographical writings.

Lanegan is going on tour next month and will perform a string of shows in Washington including shows in Bellingham, Olympia, Vashon Island, a stop at the Neptune Theater on May 3 and a show in his hometown of Ellensburg on May 1. The Ellensburg concert will be his first show there in 30 years.
