Tonight: SxSeattle at the Crocodile

A few weeks back we mentioned the SXSW sendoff party, appropriately titled SxSeattle.

Again, look at that cool Nat Damm poster. Isn’t it awesome?

The show — which features State of the Artist, Wild Orchid Children, Tea Cozies and D Black, is happening tonight (8 p.m., $12) — is happening tonight and so is the accompanying musicians bazaar. The bazaar will take place between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Crocodile’s back bar and is all-ages. Local musicians who will be making their way to Austin are selling one of a kind items and crafts to help raise money for their trips to Texas. Here’s some info on some of the goodies being offered up tonight:

– The Young Evils: Hand-painted light switch covers
– Black Whales: Maps, Sci Fi Readers, drum lessons & a house party show
– Campfire OK: A kissing booth, caricature stand, scarves & baked treats
– Redwood Plan: Drawings of Leslie’s cat, new single only sold here & at SX
– Tea Cozies: Merit badges, beer cozies, pillowcases, Scrabble magnets
– Ravenna Woods: A lucky satchel with beard hair from each member
– D.Black: 4-pack album discography & signed, framed poster package
– State of the Artist: Pick a topic & they’ll rap it, SOTA as your voicemail
– Fatal Lucciauno: Sport’n Life discography set

Tonight’s event will be one of D Black’s final performances, according to his label Sport’n Life Records and it is a precursor to the Seattle showcase happening at SXSW which boasts a bill filled with plenty of Guerrilla Candy favorites. Austin is definitely going to get a healthy dose of Seattle on March 18.

Of course we here in Seattle don’t have to go to Austin to experience such a killer lineup because the lineup reads like a typical weekend of shows in Seatown. Yes, I’m bragging about all of the amazing talent here in Seattle. What can I say, we’re damn lucky in our upper left corner of the country.
