Watch Odesza’s stunning drone display at Coachella

If you’ve been out of the local music loop the past four or five years you’d be forgiven for not knowing one of the Seattle area’s biggest musical exports since popping tags is Odesza.

The group has accomplished many remarkable things in a relatively short period of time. Some of those accomplishments include headlining Bumbershoot, getting nominated for Grammys and, most recently, performing a pretty phenomenal nighttime set in the desert of Indio, Calif. at Coachella.

As has come to be expected from the group, their Sunday night main stage set, which was slotted right before headliner Eminem, included many impressive visual elements.

But the most impressive part of the stage show didn’t take part on the stage. It happened in the sky. And the best part about it was that you didn’t have to be on some sort of chemical concoction of hallucinogens to enjoy it. Technology crafted this desert trip.

Odesza used hundreds of drones to light up the sky and fly in formation to create their logo over the dark desert sky. It’s a spectacle unlike anything in Coachella’s history, which is saying a lot considering the festival’s past.

Check out a clip of the display above and get another glimpse of it in the video below.
